Miss Juliette Helen Edwards
I have been a member of the Midland Ophthalmological Society for over 25 years and am an Ophthalmologist working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The Secretariat serves as Personal Assistant and Secretary to the MOS Council, aiding the executive committee members with all administrative tasks essential for the efficient operation of the Society. When Secretariat vacancies are available, they will be posted here:
Who are the Executive Committee?
The Midland Ophthalmological Society Executive Committee (The MOS Council) comprises the President, President Ex Officio, President Elect, two Honorary Secretaries, two Trainee Representatives and theTreasurer.
The role of President is assigned for a one year duration, with the candidate being an Ophthalmologist chosen from Birmingham or the broader Midlands region.
Honorary Secretaries are appointed for three years, typically one being an Ophthalmologist working in central Birmingham and the other working in the broader Midlands area.
The Trainee Representatives, chosen from the cohort of Midlands trainees, also serve for a term of three years.
The Treasurer, usually an Ophthalmologist, is appointed for a more extended period for logistical reasons.
