The Alistair Fielder Prize in Ophthalmology
Since last year we have introduced a prize to the best presentation given by a medical student and junior trainee during the rapid fire presentation session.
For the junior doctors, early exposure to such events and the opportunity to partcipate and stand up to scrutiny is invigorating and inspiring, whether they win or lose.
As this prize is to be a form of inspiration, it is named after someone who throughout his career has been a source of inspiration for so many, Professor Alistair Fielder. All junior doctors are welcome to participate. There will be two prizes, one for the medical students and one for the trainees in ophthalmology. Places are limited, so please apply by 25 March 2018 at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The aim of this symposium is to highlight the region’s strengths abroad. Sharing these experiences, and the skills we bring back to our NHS practice, will propagate further collaboration and enhance approaches to eye care within the region.
